Gloria Y. Chavez, MBA
With over 20 years of experience navigating high-stakes negotiations and complex regulatory environments, I bring a unique, multi-disciplinary perspective to the mortgage industry. My career has been defined by a commitment to translating intricate financial and legal concepts into clear, actionable guidance for my clients.
A FOUNDATION OF EXPERIENCE
My professional journey is backed by a strong academic foundation, including an MBA and a BA in International Business from San Diego State University. This educational background, combined with my experience as a licensed Real Estate Agent in both California and New Mexico, allows me to view the lending process through a comprehensive financial and operational lens.
DIVERSE PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
Before transitioning into mortgage loan origination, I built a robust career across several demanding fields:
- Human Resources & Labor Relations: I spent over 15 years in Human Resources Management, specializing in conflict resolution, employee relations, and contract interpretation. My tenure at organizations like the San Diego Unified School District and Statehouse Holdings Inc. sharpened my ability to manage risk and advocate for stakeholders during complex negotiations.
- International Experience: My career has always had a global reach. I served as a Business & Banking Communications Teacher in Zurich, Switzerland, where I taught financial English to international professionals. Additionally, my background includes working as a commodities buyer in Baja California, further diversifying my understanding of international trade and market dynamics.
- Investigation & Compliance: My roles as a Title IX Director and a COVID-19 Contact Tracing Investigator required meticulous due diligence, analytical documentation, and the ability to conduct sensitive, high-stakes interviews—skills that are essential for the precise requirements of mortgage underwriting.
Your Dedicated Problem Solver
I am, at my core, a dedicated problem solver who thrives under pressure. Whether I am helping a first-time homebuyer understand their loan options or navigating a complex real estate transaction, I approach every challenge with empathy, active listening, and a focus on personalized solutions.
Life Beyond the Office
When I’m not helping clients achieve their homeownership goals, I find my “zen” through a dedicated yoga practice. I also have a passion for cooking and love spending time traveling with my husband, Rob, and our senior dog, Coco.
As a bilingual professional in English and Spanish, I am proud to serve a diverse community, ensuring every client feels confident and informed throughout the lending process.
