Sean Cahan is the President and owner of Cornerstone First Mortgage, a privately held, full-service mortgage bank headquartered in San Diego, CA. He oversees end-to-end operations and production across the platform—underwriting, funding, processing, and sales—while remaining an active originator, which keeps him close to borrower needs and market dynamics. Under Sean’s leadership, Cornerstone has scaled from a single local lender into a national operation with 100+ branches and licenses in 49 states plus Puerto Rico, with annual production measured in the billions.

Known in the industry for a builder/producer mindset, Sean has been Cornerstone’s top producer multiple years running and has been recognized by trade outlets for leadership and growth. He also contributes thought leadership to industry publications. Before joining Cornerstone, Sean earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Washington State University. He was born and raised in Bellevue, Washington, and later moved to San Diego, where he lives with his wife, Chelsea, and their two daughters, Annabelle and Isla. Outside of work, he’s an avid triathlete and enjoys traveling with his family.
